How to Create a Case Study That Wins New Business

By Scott Nguyen · Feb 16, 2026 · 1 min read

A well-written case study is more persuasive than any other sales collateral for a service business. Most fail because they're written as company stories rather than problem-solution stories.

Structure Around the Buyer's Journey

The most effective structure follows: the client's situation and problem, the stakes of not solving it, the solution implemented, and the measurable results achieved. Put the client's problem at the centre, not your work.

Lead With the Results in the Title

'How We Helped Zenex Enterprises' tells a prospect nothing. 'How Zenex Enterprises Reduced Inventory Stockouts by 68% in 6 Months' tells them the specific result, timeline, and scope — immediately communicating relevance.

Use Specific Numbers

Vague results language — 'significantly improved,' 'substantially reduced' — is useless. Specific numbers are compelling: '+42% Amazon revenue,' '-24% fulfillment cost.' Get client sign-off to use specific numbers wherever possible.

The fix: Identify your best client result from the last 12 months. Write a case study using the structure above in under 600 words. Feature it on your homepage and services page immediately.
