Your products are uploaded to Walmart Seller Center, but some still aren't available on Walmart.ca. An unpublished listing can interrupt sales, and repeatedly uploading the same file without understanding the error may make troubleshooting harder. This Canada-specific guide explains how to find the reason, verify product data and work through the appropriate correction process.
Start with the item status and reason code. Walmart Canada distinguishes unpublished items from items with setup errors, items still processing and listings that lack available inventory. Those conditions don't all have the same fix.
1. Check whether the item is unpublished, processing or in error
In Walmart Canada Seller Center, open Catalog and review the item status. The Catalog page distinguishes published, unpublished, processing and error states. Processing means the submission is still being handled; an error indicates a setup problem that requires investigation. A published listing without inventory may not be buyable. Record the SKU, item ID, product identifier, current status and status-change reason before making changes.
For unpublished listings, open Catalog → Unpublished Items. Use View Items to inspect the reason and Export when reviewing multiple affected SKUs. Walmart's Unpublished Items Dashboard guide describes this workflow.
2. Diagnose the reason before editing the listing
| What you see | What to check next |
|---|---|
| Product ID error or mismatch | Compare the UPC or GTIN against the exact product and pack size |
| Missing required attributes | Review category-specific item setup fields, images, price and inventory |
| Feed or setup error | Inspect the Activity Feed result and affected rows before resubmitting |
| Reasonable Price Not Satisfied | Review item price, shipping charges and any incorrect external product comparison |
| Trust & Safety issue | Review the specific policy notice and available Partner Support appeal route |
| Potential duplicate | Check whether the identifier belongs to the same product, variant and quantity |
These are examples, not an exhaustive list. Use the reason shown in your Canadian account instead of guessing from a US help article.
3. Fix Walmart Canada GTIN and UPC errors carefully
Walmart Canada requires valid product identifiers for marketplace items, subject to its published exemption process. Incorrect or reused identifiers can create catalogue mismatches. Walmart specifically warns that a product ID mismatch can merge the wrong name, images or specifications onto an item page and may cause automatic unpublishing.
Verify the identifier against the physical packaging, manufacturer information and relevant GS1 records. Check the exact size, colour, model and pack quantity. A two-pack and a single unit should not be assigned the same identifier simply because the underlying product is similar. Do not invent or reuse a barcode to bypass an error. See Walmart Canada's product ID troubleshooting guide and identifier policy.
4. Investigate bulk upload and feed failures
For spreadsheet or integration submissions, check the Activity Feed and any row-level error details. Compare the submitted SKU and product ID to your source catalogue, correct only the affected records and track the next submission result. Keep a versioned copy of the original file and an error log; avoid replacing large groups of identifiers before confirming the underlying issue. Walmart's item setup guidance explains how to track submission errors and correct them.
5. Review price-based unpublishing separately
If Seller Center shows Reasonable Price Not Satisfied, review the offer price and shipping fees. Walmart Canada says its pricing assessment considers prices inclusive of shipping and may unpublish substantially uncompetitive offers. If the system matched your product to the wrong item or variant on another website, use the Report Incorrect Match route described in the Unpublished Items Dashboard guidance. Do not change your GTIN to evade a pricing decision.
6. Handle compliance and duplicate-item flags appropriately
A Trust & Safety restriction is different from a missing field. Review the notice and, where applicable, open a Partner Support case with factual product documentation. For potential duplicate items, verify whether the identifier is assigned to the correct product and variation before updating it. Walmart Canada's duplicate listings guidance describes the relevant catalogue filters and correction options. Neither support review nor resubmission guarantees publication.
7. Does WFS change the troubleshooting process?
If an affected product uses Walmart Fulfillment Services, confirm the listing and offer data separately from inbound or available inventory status. A catalogue issue cannot always be solved by sending more stock, and a receiving problem is not necessarily a product content error. For inbound discrepancies, see our WFS shipment receiving troubleshooting guide.
8. Build a repeatable catalogue error tracker
For each affected SKU, track: item name, correct GTIN, item ID, status, exact error message, suspected cause, supporting evidence, action taken, submission or support case reference, owner and next review date. Prioritize products that are otherwise ready to sell, but do not assume every error is eligible for a quick fix.
9. When should you get outside help?
Professional support may be worthwhile when dozens of listings are affected, identifiers have been mismatched, repeated feed submissions fail or catalogue issues cross several teams. Frequently asked questions
Why are my Walmart Canada items unpublished?
Possible causes include pricing policy issues, Trust & Safety restrictions, product identifier mismatches or incomplete setup information. Review the exact item status and reason in Seller Center.
How do I find Walmart Seller Center listing errors?
Start with Catalog and the Unpublished Items dashboard. For item setup submissions, review Activity Feed errors and affected records.
Can I reuse a GTIN from another Walmart listing?
No. Walmart Canada's product identifier policy prohibits reusing an existing product ID for a different product. Verify the identifier for the exact item and pack configuration.
Will correcting an error automatically republish my item?
Not necessarily. The outcome depends on the reason and Walmart's review or processing. Confirm the updated status and live offer after submitting corrections.
Can a consultant guarantee my Walmart listings will go live?
No. A consultant can investigate data, coordinate fixes and help prepare support cases, but Walmart controls listing approval and publication.
